Thinking Blue… and White

For decades, Iksel Decorative Arts has developed an extensive range of wallpapers inspired by Iznik ceramic motifs. These were originally created as Architectural wallpapers, designed bespoke for each project.
In 2022, we launched our first collection of Repeat Designs, available as standard panels, in our original multicolor palette. This autumn 2025, we are presenting a new Blue & White edition of Iznik motifs featuring 23 designs, accompanied by our first coordinated furnishing fabric.

The 12 new Blue & White designs we present draw inspiration from two masterpieces of decorative art: the magnificent halls of the Palace of Topkapi and the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque, both in Istanbul – landmarks that embody the pinnacle of Islamic decorative traditions.
The designs showcase a variety of motifs, from floral arabesques to geometric patterns, with softly undulating flowers and bright stars. A favourite flower is carnation (karanfil): Their long blooming season made them a powerful emblem of life’s renewal and spiritual reflection, which is why they became a beloved motif in Iznik tiles and other decorative arts. In Ottoman culture, carnations also conveyed nobility and political power, often appearing in portraits of sultans.
Completing the collection are two assorted ceiling designs—the Iznik Medallion Ceiling (CE100M) and the Iznik Adorned Ceiling (CE100A), both available exclusively as custom pieces—as well as a coordinated fabric, Iznik Sinan RF104, available by the meter.
Original to Blue and White
From our 2022 collection, appeared in the Original colorway, the designs have been translated into Blue and White to fit perfectly in this new collection while enabling you to choose from what are now classics from our collection.
