These are two examples from a series of six panels, developed from original 17th Cent works of Dutch and French painters who accompanied Explorers in the West Indies and South America. These were historically the first Westerners to have painted such subjects from nature. Accentuated by the patina we gave them, is that certain Old World Chic which put's them quite apart from more modern tropical inspirations.
