Of course, we did not seek to appeal to minimalists. But it was propitious that the rapid change of the Environment, the feeling of alienation it brought, was inducing many individuals to reassert lifestyles set for themselves, inspired by personal tastes and values, of which the first and foremost manifestation was the Home. This was the only real shelter from the invasive outside world. A place for imagination and pleasure. Where eclectic tastes could be blended into great style. Such people needed architecture, ornament, decor.
